Angus Mackirk manufactured the last EXCALIBER in 2006. The original design had become to expensive to produce. Because of the many requests for the EXCALIBUR design, Angus looked for a way to build the unit (with the same level of recovery) at a cheaper price without sacrificing the quality. With New methods and materials, He did it. The new model ways in at under 20 pounds and still maintains the originals level of recovery. The new hopper provides a "slick Plate" shovel feed area with two water cannons to wash the material to the reverse Wedge Grate. Material 3/8ths and smaller falls thru the grate to the main sluice. In the main sluice material 12 mesh and smaller is separated from the bulk waste material via the "EXTRACTION Riffle" in the upper flume sluice and sent to the Lower Sluice to capture the fine gold. Nuggets and Coarser gold are caught in the Boil Box at the end of the upper sluice where they can be removed by the special drain in the boil box. made by Angus MacKirk
